Firm cover.

27th February 2022

Another thaw/freeze cycle coming up with some snowfall that will be mainly focused on the higher Cairngorm hills. Hopefully we won’t lose much snow cover South of the Dee, it was very firm around the Glenshee hills today, probably much the same by the end of tomorrow if the weather does as expected.

Looking from Carn nan Sac across to the white looking slopes on Creag Leacach.

Quite a few tourers and walkers around today. Above a frozen Loch Vrotachan.

A great day. Impressive views across to the main Cairngorms.

The ridge of An Socach foreground(spot the walkers) with a very white Cairn Toul and Breariach in the distance.

Bonus picture. Kenny from the Aberdeen Mountain Rescue Team was in Lochnagar today and sent me some great pics. Monday will see a rise in the freezing level but hopefully we won’t lose much snow from here.
