Clear conditions first thing but the cloud blew in fairly rapidly during the late morning. Strong, cold wind at altitude with very firm patchy old snow present. The freezing level is set to fall overnight with some limited precipitation forecast. This will only amount to a dusting and maybe some shallow accumulations on the higher mountains on the northern boundary of the area.
Long shot to the cliffs
Very little snow remaining – but what is there is bullet hard.
Well broken ice on Lochnagar.
