Lochnagar.

14th January 2022

A rather pleasant and virtually windless day up Lochnagar today. Disappointingly mild of course. The forecast is for the freezing level to start dropping tomorrow, hopefully the little amount of snow we have will be preserved!

Looking down to Gelder. Gelder Shiel (Ernies Bothy) is in the trees.

Quite a few Grouse around today. Probably enjoying the mild temperatures!

Lochnagar. Not very Wintry but easy gullies hanging onto some snow. Black Spout had 4 people up it today. Should be a fine way up if the snow hardens up.

Lochnagar summit and the West Ridge with Beinn a Bhuird in the background.

Ptarmigans, fairly easy to spot at the moment!

West side of Corrie. The crags are generally bare with a few rotten ribbons of ice. Climber, top left has come up Black Spout as a group. Summit top right.

Well geared up group making their descent. Not many other walkers around today.
