Covid-19

The Scottish Avalanche Information Service would recommend that those wishing to enjoy the winter mountains refer to Mountaineering Scotland and Scottish Government advice regarding Covid-19 and outdoor activities.

Up to Lochnagar today, quite a few people around but as the weather was reasonable it shouldn’t be a surprise. Lots of lower snow is gone but the corrie is holding a fair bit.

Lovely to see a female Cappercaille this morning.

Lochnagar. Still holding snow above 900 metres.

Climbers descending from The Cathedral area. There was also a couple people over by The Black Spout.

Looking over the crags.

Ptarmigan around the corrie rim.

Walkers on Lochnagar col with Crathie area in the distance.
