Lochnagar

14th March 2020

Went up the West ridge to the summit of Lochnagar today but it was very difficult to see anything as the visibility was extremely poor, however two members of Aberdeen MRT were in the corrie and witnessed avalanche activity. Constant redistribution was occurring as well as there being a steadily rising freezing level. It’s forecast to be colder tomorrow with some light snowfall: Winds staying strong but becoming variable in direction.

No view from the summit of Cac Carn Beag, Lochnagar (1155m) today

Very poor visibility at the top of the crags.
