Poor visibility.

24th February 2020

It was strange to see snow coming from the South-East today…..been a while!

Steadily snowing and drifting all day with generally poor visibility above 800 metres.

New snowfall around the Carn Aosda hut. Baseless new snow around this level, 750 metres.

Snowing hard at the top of ‘The Tiger’. East aspects still holding best cover although it has had the wind across them.

Deep new snow on a Westerly. As there was nothing on these aspects yesterday there is no base to these new soft accumulations.

Although unstable, new deposits are very localised and often avoidable…..if you can see!

The pistes at Glenshee were a good option for descent today.
