A wild winters day.

11th February 2020

As expected it was a poor day today. Heavy snowfall and constant drifting at all levels. Any slopes exposed to the winds are scoured with little depth but deep accumulations of unstable windslab have formed in lee locations.

For the first time this year the snow gates were closed. You can find the gate cam here. http://braemarscotland.co.uk/snowgate-webcam/

Wildness at Glenshee Ski Centre.

Head of Ski Patrol Kate very pleased to see some proper snow fall at last. Bodie the search and rescue dog looks less impressed.

The weather was just too wild to keep the road open today but hopefully the big boys will do the business tomorrow.

Heavy snowfall and near constant drifting on the hill today. Only thin cover where exposed to the strong winds.
