Skimo Saturday

Today was the Dynafit British Ski Mountaineering Championship at Glenshee Ski Centre organised by Di Gilbert of Skimo Scotland. Well the thought of having brightly coloured skiers to photograph on an otherwise dull day was enough to get me up there. Apparently you are all getting a little bored of our mountain hares, ptarmigan, grouse and deer shots! Well here is something completely different  – skiers in lycra in the Scottish Mountains in January…
There’s a little bit of snow forecast for tomorrow and Monday and the freezing level is lowering down to 400 metres so the old snow is going to get firm and icy. There’ll probably be quite a bit of water-ice around underfoot as well.
