Bright start but poor afternoon.

10th January 2020

The early birds will have had the best of the day. By afternoon it was very different to the morning, cloud, trace of new snow and a cold wind chill.

Becoming cloudy on Creag Leacach.

Very cold in the strong winds with a a trace of new snow.

Surface hoar, but only in the most sheltered of locations.

There is not much ice on the crags but plenty elsewhere.

Ptarmigan preferring to walk than battle the strong winds.

The snow factory at Glenshee Ski Centre continues to provide the best source of the white stuff at the moment! They will have good coverage on a couple easier runs shortly.
