It’s all about aspects.

30th January 2019

Great views from Carn an Tuirc and Cairn o Claise this morning, some hill cloud moving across the hills in the afternoon.

It looks very wintry looking Northwards as the Southerly aspects are holding deepest accumulations. Keen skiers will be able to do a few laps on some of these areas but any touring will involve a carry.

Sheltered glens and forests hold good cover with plenty of skinny ski options lower down.

There are plenty deer down at low levels at the moment.

Looking towards the main Cairngorms.

A group above Corrie Kander.

Snow behind the wall on Cairn o Claise, Glas Maol in the background.

Carn Aosda (near centre) and the ski area. A little scalped on top with most snow on the left (SW aspect).

View to Braemar. Looks nice and white this way!

Very thin cover on these aspects. Corrie Fionn in need of snow before it can be opened.
