Faking it!

6th January 2019

Taking the idea from reality show ‘stars’ – If you haven’t got it naturally – Fake It!

When I dropped out of the cloud today I spotted a low level patch of snow that I had to go and investigate. It turns out that during the cold weather Glenshee Ski Centre have been making snow which is where I found Kate, Head of Ski Patrol at Glenshee and other search dog handlers training with their dogs – who have amazing noses, huge amounts of energy and great digging skills (especially when rucksacks with ham and cheese sandwiches are buried – Top tip – Always have tasty smelling sandwiches in your pocket when operating on unstable snow – just in case!

The next 24 hours look fairly unpleasant with seriously strong winds forecast. Colder, with a 1000 metre freezing level but only insignificant amounts of snow forecast. The waiting game continues……

Faking it! The snow canons have been in action this week at Glenshee Ski Centre – Too mild today though…
