Poor visibility.

13th April 2018

Not an awful lot to be seen today with the cloud base never getting much higher than 650 metres at best. With the snowpack slowly thawing there is continued snow loss particularly sub 900 metres. Still good touring higher up and most corries have good deep coverage.

Glenshee Ski Centre are still running most lifts until Monday, then opening the following Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd inclusive. Very unusual for them to be open at this time of year, probably gives an idea how deep the snow is!

Towards Carn an Tuirc.

Exposed ridges are clear of snow but flanks are often holding patchy cover. This is around 920 metres.
