The ‘Beast’ Creeps Our Way…

25th February 2018

As mentioned previously the popular press have been getting a little excited about the weather coming in from Siberia instead of the Atlantic for a change – calling the weather system ‘The Beast from the East’. Not sure how ‘Beastly’ it’s going to be, but we definitely have snow coming our way this week on increasingly stronger winds. The words ‘Gales’ and ‘Blizzards’ are now getting used in our 48 hour outlooks so it does look like the Eastern ranges are going to get some interesting weather this week.

The outlook also says that it will become very cold – so I must be a complete wimp as I already thought that it had been bitterly cold this week! Time to dig out my Himalayan expedition clothing – down mitts, the lot!

Sorry the photo today is incredibly boring – I think that I’m a cloud magnet as I must have picked the only area with low cloud today… Hopefully will be able to make it up to you, with shots of lots of new snow later in the week…

Quite monochrome out there at present. Strong sunlight has been stripping out the shallow cover.
