Snow on the way…

15th January 2018

Little bit of a surprise today as the freezing level didn’t go up and over the summits last night as expected – therefore there was little bit more snow blowing around high up. Some persistent drifting going on at the highest elevations. Lower down the melt/freeze cycle has left a lot of icy conditions around.

All areas have been forecast snowfall in the next 24hr period. Cold temperatures and fresh to strong winds mean that we are going to see a lot of this new snow redistributing into sheltered locations. Unstable windslab is going to be present so have a quick look at the report if you are heading out….

Icy conditions under foot at 900m.
