Driftastic.

31st January 2018

There was a decent amount of new snow overnight and with such strong winds there was plenty of snow being blown around today. Looks like a bit more snow tomorrow but with a change in the wind direction we’re likely to see a lot of snow being blown around again on Thursday.

It was a bright day but with occasional snow and cloud at times. Of course the standard Gale Force winds were in full flow.

Snow was heaviest overnight. Some deep accumulations have developed, ground still very scoured windward slopes.

Keen walkers heading out.

Always gets a good kip in when at a pit site!

Accumulations on steep sheltered terrain are starting to build.

Walkers making good use of scoured stable terrain.
