To there and back again.

29th December 2017

It wasn’t the nicest day on the hill today. Plenty of drifting with some light snowfall in the afternoon.

A lot of the light dry snow lying around was starting to be redistributed. The new accumulations building over bare ground will be blown back to other aspects tomorrow.

The shallow cover was starting to be stripped where exposed to the strong winds.

Ice is cunningly disguised by a light layer of snow. You’ll discover this only when too late, padded pants advised.

New accumulations are generally shallow but very unstable. Newly developed areas will be mostly subject to strong winds tomorrow.

Open aspects, such as Corrie Fionn are still very lean. New snow is mostly restricted to Corrie rims and other sheltered features.
