Light intermittent showers

16th March 2017

Light intermittent rain showers this morning and soft, gently thawing snow patches. The largest areas now tend to be on the highest mountains that rise over 1000 metres in altitude. Those hills that top out around the 900 metres mark only have the smallest of patches now.

There is snow in the weather forecast but it looks like the West is getting the lion’s share with just a few light showers making it as far East as Lochnagar… At least it is getting colder, so the remaining snow will firm up.

South aspect Carn Aosda (917m), practically no snow.

Some snow patches on the West aspect of Carn an Tuirc (1019m).

Limited patches on the West aspect of Creag Leacach (987m)

North and West aspect of Glas Maol (1068m) slightly larger patches that its smaller neighbours
