Happier Huskies

28th January 2017

At long last we have had some new snow today: Fairly light this morning, but more persistent this afternoon. It’s still just a light covering at the moment but at least it is starting to look like winter out there. The huskies were showing their pleasure by pulling hard like the towing machines they are bred to be and playfully rolling around in it. Sunny forecast for tomorrow so should be a good hill day – just watch out for slippy conditions underfoot – lots of hard water-ice around hidden beneath a thin covering of snow.

Huskies happy to have some fresh snow to play in

Just a light covering of snow at present – but it’s a start

Low cloud and poor visibility. Light snow, more persistent in the afternoon.

Long husky guard hairs doing their job – keeping the snow on the surface well away from the skin…These dogs are well adapted to cope with snowy conditions – we just need some more!
