Mild today-Cold tomorrow.

25th December 2016

Perhaps we should of had a Christmas breakfast this morning, it may have helped anchor us down in the winds. Some very wild gusts came through. The Cairnwell weather station recorded several gusts over 100 mph today. By 8am it was already +6 on the summit and the snow cover was  patchy. However it will become colder again and we’re expecting some new snowfall, hopefully it’ll look a bit more wintry again by the end of tomorrow.

Snow was very wet and soft today. Note the water at the bottom of the slope and the thaw lines on the snow.
