Looking like Winter again!

We had some heavy rain down in the valley last night. It left a covering of snow above 700 metres.

Generally, new snow wasn’t that deep. Buttresses are all white again. No new avalanches around either. Older snow is becoming very icy in some locations.

The large cornice above Central Gully has gone, probably on Saturday when we had rain at summit level.

Of course….just as you get to the top, it clouds up!

It was a bright day with some cloud around the summits, looked worse back towards the main Cairngorms.
