Stability

19th February 2016

There were a few people out on touring kit today. Some good decisions being made, notably with the cafe.

Didn’t have to venture far to see how poor conditions were.

Underfoot cracking.

Underfoot cracking.

From my foot this crack disappears forward then fractures up and down resulting in a 10 metre slab sliding down the hill. New surface slab is generally shallow but was starting get deep in some places.

Another brief thaw tonight, slight easing in the winds but expect more newly formed slab tomorrow.
