Thaw continues

24th January 2016

The thaw continued today with low cloud and persistent light rain in the mountains. Cover remains good above 800 metres but is starting to really thin out below this altitude. The rivers were starting to come up today as the melt water worked its way off the mountains down into the glens. The weather looks mixed over the next 48 hours with fluctuating temperatures, more precipitation and potentially very strong winds.
