Cold today!

It was another busy day on the hill today although there was a lot of flat light around at times. Some welcome breaks in the cloud and there were plenty ski tourers out again.

There was little happening to the snow as the winds were not strong enough to move it around but (at last) the cold is having an effect on the snowpack with a couple of weaker layers noted in the snow.

Braemar Mountain Rescue and Tayside Mountain Rescue were doing a avalanche based training scenario.
Keeping up to date with latest techniques and equipment is important. Good to know these well trained
teams are there if you need them.
