There was another brief thaw last night with the freezing level around 900 metres at mid-day. New snow amounts are variable, sometimes fairly deep. Â Unfortunately the older snow-ice has not yet frozen and is fairly ‘mushy’ under the surface. There was quite a bit of cornice debris around the corrie with the biggest debris area in Central gully. Still some sizeable cornices around though.
Looking good when clouds cleared.
Significant drifting in the strong winds.
Climbers heading for Parallel A.
Still good coverage in the corrie. Reasonable size cornices still exist.
