Up till now, we were quite lucky, with the previous thaw’s being quite gentle. Not this one, there was a big difference in the river levels between going out and coming back today. Temperature has reached +5 degrees at 930 metres. We’ll lose a lot of the patchy stuff but hopefully NE to SE aspects will hang on to reasonable cover.
West aspects are pretty bare. Carn an Tuirc.
Looking over to Butcharts area. The runs about hanging on.
