Glas Maol snow cover.

17th March 2014

A mostly fine day with good visibility and lighter winds. Great ski touring cover remains at higher levels. Plenty skiers and boarders enjoying the spring snow in Coire Fionn and on Glas Maol at Glenshee. Colder conditions coming later in the week.
Despite the thaw of recent days with temperatures reaching 15 degrees in Ballater yesterday a lot of cornices remain in place. Looking towards Monega above Caenlochan.
….many with glide cracks above them.
Looking South West from Glas Maol towards Graig Leacach. No skiers in view today.

The summit cairn on Glas Maol is starting to appear after being buried for most of the winter.
