Lochnagar avalanche debris.

26th February 2014

Greg inspecting debris. It was in 2 zones, Under Central Gully/Buttress and from DG Gully to Black Spout. Hadn’t quite got to the Loch as it had to run over debris from previous avalanches.
Looking up to Tough Brown Face
 Looking back towards Central Buttress
Is Shallow Gully an easy tick or a nightmare snow climb?

Looking down debris from Central Buttress. Ran over the rocks, hence lots of ground material in it.
Some large debris around. Some of which had crossed the traditional approaches.
Cornice anyone?

Here’s a monster.
Good news is- plenty snow on the buttresses, with the ‘right’ weather we should get some climbing in the corrie.
