There be monsters!

25th March 2013

Inside a ‘high additional load’. The Glenshee piste grooming machines were in action this morning, they are a great source of info for us, today was no exception as they managed to trigger various drifts and wind features.

Not great pictures and of course hard to tell the scale but this avalanche is to the right of the main way up Glas Maol on a Westerly aspect. I saw the tale end of it coming down in the cloud. Has descended around 300 metres in height and 800 metres in length. There are at least 3 other small avalanches I could see. In short a monster!
