Low cloud – no viz!

14th February 2013

The cloud stubbornly refused to lift and give a decent view of the mountains until later on in the day, limiting the ability to take any photos of the recent snowfall.

However what this photo of Sgor Mor (887m) does show is the difference in the cover on the North facing aspects (left and central to photo) and South facing aspects (right side of photo).

The freezing level has risen and we are starting to loose the more superficial cover in the glens but there is plenty of cover higher up and the ski mountaineers that were out and about today were skiing from their vehicles.
