Heavy snow in Glen Muick

Hard work today even on ski today to reach the profile site above Loch Muick. In the picture below Alan is actually standing on fresh avalanche debris at about 500 metres. Unusual to have avalanche activity this low down.

Skis off and “foot penetration” was immediately 60 centimetres. This data is recorded daily by the observers. As can be seen by the trees in the background this was not up high!

Heavy snow fell as the profile was prepared. Lots of deep fresh snow can clearly be seen.
