Busy day on Lochnagar

19th March 2011

Looking towards Cuidhe Crom and Meikle Pap from the Glen Muick approach to Lochnagar. Still great cover from the valley.

Higher up the wind began to blow again from the South-West transporting more snow into the corrie.

Looking down the valley that leads to Glas-alt-Shiel on Loch Muick. Still heavy going on foot. Lots of people out today enjoying the full winter conditions…..climbing, walking, ski touring and snowshoeing. The Glen Muick car park was full today.

Skiing round the edge of the corrie we met a couple finishing Raeburns Gully.

Thanks to them for their feedback on the snow encountered during their climb. For the second I think it was one of her first winter routes. Her whoop of delight as she stepped onto the plateau suggests she enjoyed it!
