Something for the weekend?

Sorry folks – went up to Lochnagar again today hoping to get some decent photos for you, in case you were thinking of climbing there at the weekend – but the cloud refused to lift – I can only hang around for so long waiting! The buttresses are fairly black but the gullies are hanging on in there, and the wet snow from yesterday was just starting to refreeze. We’ve been forecast a 700 metre freezing level for tomorrow so the snow is going to refreeze and become very firm – watch out – the runouts are very bouldery! Snow showers have been forecast and there will be a fairly strong wind causing drifting – see main report for aspects etc. Any new snow of depth will be poorly bonded to the snow-ice beneath…..
