Thaw

10th February 2008

Having lost most of the cover over the last few days it does look a bit depressing but as it’s holidays for some folks it should be pointed out there is still plenty to go at.

Glenshee Ski Area are still using the Butcharts/race tracks areas, you may have to walk up or use the Tiger Chair.

You can ski tour to Glas Maol using snow on pistes/closed lift lines/burns. With a bit of work you get the rewarded with some spring snow descents. Glas Maol runs are still complete. White Mounth plateau not looking great but if your keen!

Easier main gullies are still complete. Ideally it could do with a freeze, watch out for the last of the cornices coming down or even a bit of rockfall from steeper crags.
Higher tops are still holding snow with valley tracks clear.
