Lochnagar ski tour

11th January 2008

Ali and I skied up from the Keiloch through Ballochbuie Forest past the Stuic and over to Lochnagar today. Low tracks are ok, bit walking in areas sheltered by trees but generally they have snow and ice on them.

Above is a view across to Broad Cairn. You’ll get a real mixed bag for skiing. Lots of wind sculptures, ice, soft deep snow all good stuff.

Looking over to Lochnagar

.
Looking down to a very snowy Black Spout Pinnacle.

The crags both at the Stuic and Lochnagar are very white. The Southern Sector had slightly less snow.
The descent back to the forest.

Beinn a Bhuird behind.

Paul.
