Sunshine and showers.

8th April 2022

There was some heavy snow showers overnight, these eased during the morning giving a mix of sunshine and showers later.

After more snow overnight the landscape was looking much whiter and less scoured. Occasional deep drifts from 600 metres, old snow very firm and icy. Looking towards the main Cairngorms.

There was some drifting in the strong winds. Fairly limited compared to yesterday. Rogue at 900 metres with Cairn Bannoch 1012 behind.

A view towards the crags of the Dubh Loch (left).

Cracking underfoot in recent deeper deposits.

It was a day of sunshine and showers. A Westerly view of Lochnagar clearing.
