Lochnagar.

11th April 2022

Had a wander towards Central Gully on Lochnagar. There had been a mild period from around 4pm yesterday which had softened the snow turning it into sticky  crampon balling stuff!

Freezing levels are expected to go over the summits tomorrow, recent snow will become unstable as will any remaining cornices.

A gloomy start. Gelder Shiel to Lochnagar.

The West Buttress.

The black crags of the South Sector. Plenty roller balling on the surface after last nights temperature rise.

Looking across to the The Black Spout. The crag apron snows have been slowly diminishing, likely to go a bit quicker in Tuesday’s expected thaw.
