Firm snow.

15th March 2022

The clouds were generally above the summits today giving view over the hills. Although it looks a little whiter most of the new snow has been blown clear of the hills. Old snow is much firmer and it feels icy underfoot at higher levels.

Low flying helicopter (on the right) was doing a deer count in the area. Here passing the summit of Lochnagar to look in the Stuic corrie.

The older snow was generally firm and often icy where exposed to the wind. Most aspects above 900 metres hold snow cover.

There was some new light snowfall, most of it was blown away in the strong winds.

View across to Beinn a Bhuird.
