Staying Windy…

16th February 2022

Unfortunately the freezing level rose up to around 1000 metres today and stayed there for longer than expected. Thankfully it is due to lower this evening and keep on dropping through tomorrow. A modest amount of snow forecast for Thursday but with gale force winds there will be fairly persistent drifting of recent deposits. It’s unlikely to be a pleasant day at summit level.

Looking across to Creag Leacach (987m) from Meall Odhar.

Looking West across from Meall Odhar to The Cairnwell and beyond.

A ‘tweaked’ photo taken in poor light as Glas Maol came out of the cloud. Deposits are building around the corrie rim, just starting to steepen up a little.

Deep deposits in lee locations – Plenty for ‘Dog Holing’
