Improving cover.

7th January 2022

Changeable winds have helped improve snow cover on all aspects. It’s looking white on the hill, however skiers will be looking for a bit more depth yet. More snow and Southerly winds tomorrow (Saturday).

A bright start to the day. Good snow coverage on both Beinn a Bhuird and Ben Avon.

The Cairnwell. Cover sub 900 metres is generally unconsolidated with no base.

Mountain hares above Cairnlochan. Gullies around this area need more snow.

Skiers on Glas Maol Plateau. Higher areas have reasonable cover but away from here there will be a bit of carrying required.

conditions

Walkers on the Glas Maol plateau. Glas Tulaichean behind..

Winds strengthened during the day. The dry and mostly unconsolidated snow started to drift early afternoon.
