A pleasant day out.

28th December 2021

It was a cloudy start to the day but surprisingly there were some gaps in the cloud mid morning onwards. Perhaps most noticeable this morning was the snow loss. Quite a lot of thinner cover has gone sub 900 metres. A theme that will be continued tomorrow with mild temps and light rain.

A cloudy start to the day but by late morning the sun started breaking through.

Minor avalanche debris in Corrie Fionn. Probably occurred Boxing Day.

Rime ice on a post.

Typical of snow cover now. In the foreground snow is scoured and very firm, recently having had very strong winds over it. Thinner cover has gone, as seen in the far slopes.

A nice reward. A view to the main Cairngorms, still looking very white.
