Snowing and blowing.

1st March 2020

We didn’t quite get the snow we were expecting overnight, however as forecasted we did get snowfall during the day. Combined with the strong South-Westerly winds it felt quite wild at times.

Burn crossings, the Scottish equivalent of crossing crevasses.

Not a lot to see above 650 metres with the arrival of poor weather mid morning.

We had plenty of chat about conditions and routes today. Underfoot conditions were generally good on our route but constant observation was important.

Descending back to the glen.

Descending forest tracks can sometimes be an awkward ski but today was perfect.

Always a delight to ski through Ballochbuie forest.

That guy in the photos has amazing ski technique. And he must be pretty cool to cross that river without getting wet feet
