Lochnagar

2nd April 2019

There was a bit of overnight snow, most of it superficial but it looked good in todays sun!

Tomorrows forecast is for snowfall and strong winds. The main Cairngorms are likely to receive much more than the South Cairngorms, it will also be worth looking at North Cairngorms reports and blogs if your intending accessing to the Cairngorms from the Braemar area.

A bit of cloud first thing.

Deer enjoying the sun.

New snowfall overnight, generally superficial most of this cover had melted by the time I came down.

The crags looking a bit more wintry.

Walkers above the Corrie.

Black Spout Right Hand. A bit of an awkward wind lip/cornice to cross on ascent.

Black Spout Left Hand. The finish of this is currently very steep.

Walkers approaching the summit.

View from the summit. Looking across to The Stuic.
