Overnight snow.

16th December 2018

As forecasted the heavy snowfall arrived overnight leaving a very different looking landscape to previous days.

There are very deep deposits in many sheltered locations with many areas exposed to the winds scoured and often icy. Visibility was initially poor in the drifting snow but it turned out to be a pleasant enough day when the winds eased.

Be happy……it snowed!

Not everyone will be pleased to see the snow!

Queen of the mountain! Serious amounts of overnight snow were cleared from the A93 but the road remained closed all day.

The winds were around 45mph first thing. Route selection was an important part of the day.

However the winds did ease while we were out. Very deep drifts are to be found in many sheltered locations.

It started to clear on the way down. Looking down to Glenshee.
