Poor stability continues.

5th April 2018

I had a quick trip to the Glas Allt at the end of Loch Muick. Lovely day with only the odd bit of cloud and light snow.

Any deep soft deposits remain unstable particularly in steep sheltered locations.

There was a couple of avalanches noted today.

An avalanche in a gully on Creag Bhiorach. The second one this season. This is above the main track on the East side of Loch Muick. This one didn’t quiet reach the main track.

Deer have had a tough Winter. Where the ground is starting to become clear there are often deer grazing.

A small avalanche on a SW aspect. Cornwall up on the left. Uncertain if it happened yesterday or this morning in the sun.

There is great coverage on the hills at the moment.

The Dubh Loch crags not quite in rock climbing mode yet.

Ptarmigans starting to change colour.

Looking over to Broad Cairn.

Conserving energy and enjoying the sun.
