Snow cover.

29th March 2018

Today was generally quite cloudy but disappointingly we didn’t have any significant new snow. However, although patchy there is still good coverage over the hills with some very deep snow in places. Good travel conditions both on ski or foot.

Deep burn lines that are filled with snow, like this one, will present a serious hazard when it warms up.

A view over to Ben Avon. More open ridges have often lost the snow. However the flanks are complete and useful for skiers.

Sun patches on the West Corrie of Lochnagar.

Cloudy around 950 metres today. There was very light new snow above 800 metres.

Dog Yukon enjoying the view towards the cloudy main Cairngorms. Still extensive cover over the Lochnagar hills.
