Lochnagar

26th March 2018

Had a ski in to Lochnagar Corrie today. Very icy in places.Mid morning the sun was quite strong with lots of falling ice, particularly on the West Buttress area. It got quite noisy for a while!

There are a lot of large cornices around, some careful route selection required!

Despite the cracks it was still possible to ski across the Loch. It was starting to change colour in places when I came back though!

There are many large cornices in places such as this one on Central Gully.

Only saw a couple climbers in today. over on Pinnacle Face, in orange, middle of shot. Out the firing line of falling debris, good route choice.

The crags in all their glory today.
