Beinn a Bhuird skiing.

28th March 2018

Great to get back to Beinn a Bhuird today. The 11th highest top in Scotland and home to some excellent skiing. Unfortunately you’ll need to walk from the woods, ski’s on not far around the corner. We opted to ski back down to the side of the Avalanche Burn. This left us with a short walk back to the track.

Above Corrie na Ciche. Good sized cornices around but avoidable in some areas.

On the Beinn a Bhuird Plateau. Great snow cover. Glen Callater in the distance.

Approaching A Chioch.

At A Chioch, Lochnagar in the distance.

At the top of the Avalanche Burn. Scene of an avalanche and a 22 hour burial over 50 years ago. You can read about it here-

Beinn a’Bhuird – Buried 22 hrs (Scotland, 1964)

The reward!
