Very wild!

14th February 2018

With new snowfall today and the winds around 70mph average,  gusting into the 90’s, it was wild on the hill today. The main roads were closed as there was very poor visibility and deep drifts forming on both sides of the pass.

Obviously conditions on the hill were not great!

The roads were closed this morning. Visibility for driving was exceptionally poor.

Our drive up the road this morning.

We drove up to around 500 metres, its about all we could do without getting stuck! The main road is 3 metres the other side of the Landy.

Todays pit site was not much further up the hillside! We didn’t need to go far to confirm the stability would be poor. Tactical retreat for coffee and cake.

A video walking back to Landrover around 500 metres.
