A wild morning.

17th January 2018

It was a very wintry morning, heavy snow showers with gusts around 70 mph made for difficult conditions. Plenty of windslab around but also a lot of ice where older snow was exposed to the strong winds. The winds eased early afternoon but there was still the odd snow shower.

Stags taking shelter in the morning.

It was a busy day for the Piste machines at Glenshee. There was plenty of new snow to deal with and pack down between the fences. The road was open, only some light drifting in places.

Clearing up early afternoon, the hills definitely looked whiter.

‘The Tiger’ at Glenshee Ski Centre. Snow cover is definitely best on these Easterly aspects, but deep windslab has formed particularly at higher elevations.
