Signs of Spring

15th March 2017

I was constantly aware of signs of Spring today: The Oyster Catchers have long been back in the area, the woodpeckers are tapping away, road cyclists and mountain bikers were out and about and the motorbikes have come out of hibernation and are now roaring up the A93…

The estates are all taking advantage of the snow-free heather to start ‘The Burning’…. Strong winds today were helping them in their quest to burn down the old heather allowing new growth to eventually come through, which will be beneficial for the grouse.

Some limited snow forecast for tomorrow afternoon and again on Friday…but milder temperatures expected on Saturday!
